Rhea is the founder of Smiling Mind. She graduated from East 15 Acting School in London in 2006 with a BA Hons degree in Contemporary Theatre. The course specialised in issue based theatre, community theatre and theatre in education. After completion Rhea set up the pioneering theatre company “Act Now”.
“Act Now” ran for 4 years delivering positive life skills clubs, issue based workshops and performances for children, young people and vulnerable adults. “Act Now” worked with community groups to create theatre that gave people a voice and helped them to overcome personal challenges and issues. It delivered workshops in schools, colleges and youth centres addressing issues including bullying, self-image, mental health awareness, under age sex, racism, alcohol misuse, depression and much more. Rhea was also the drama worker for St Michele’s youth project for 4 years where she got to build relationships and confidence with the young people.
After “Act Now” Rhea moved to Watford and became the Project Development Officer and Manager for "Flip Theatre" where she was the co-creator and facilitator of the “Positive Life Skills Project" that ran workshops with primary schools and secondary schools with children who are from under privileged back grounds to help them build confidence, self-awareness, self-value, focus, emotional awareness, team work skills and develop their personal aspirations!
